India ranks 135 out of 146 in Global Gender Gap Index

India ranks 135 among a total of 146 countries in the Global Gender Gap Index 2022 and is the worst performer in the world in the “health and survival” sub-index where it is ranked 146.

The Global Gender Report 2022, which includes the Gender Gap Index, says it will now take 132 years to reach gender parity, with the gap reducing only by four years since 2021 and the gender gap closed by 68.1%.

State Ranking Index for NFSA

Odisha has been adjudged the top ranked State followed by Uttar Pradesh at the 2nd spot and Andhra Pradesh at third amongst the General Category States in ‘State Ranking Index for NFSA’.

Among the Special Category states/UTs, Tripura stood first followed by Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim respectively.

Gujarat awarded best performer States’ Startup Ranking 2021

Gujarat has been judged as the ‘Best Performer State’ for the third time in a row in the States’ Startup Ranking 2021. The state was also adjudged ‘Best Performer State’ for 2019 and 2020. The results pronounced Gujarat, Karnataka and Meghalaya as the best states to provide a strong ecosystem for startups.

London ranked best city for students: QS Best Student Cities Ranking 2023   

In the QS Best Student Cities Ranking 2023, London has emerged as the best city for students looking to study abroad in terms of affordability, student facilities, and university standard among other factors. Seoul and Munich are at second place followed by Zurich and Melbourne at fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

India’s highest-ranked student city is Mumbai at 103 spot.

Coursera Global Skills Report 2022

Coursera’s latest Global Skills Report (GSR) 2022 has revealed India’s overall skills proficiency has slipped four places to be ranked at the 68th position globally.

In Asia, India stands at the 19th position.

India ranked 54th on Travel and Tourism Development Index

India was ranked at the 54th place in a global travel and tourism development index, down from 46th in 2019, but still remained on the top within South Asia.

Japan has topped the global charts, followed by the US, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austraila, UK, Singapore and Italy in the top ten.
