The Shri Ram Janambhoomi Trust has extended a significant invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting his presence at the installation of Lord Ram’s idol in the ‘Garbhagriha’ of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya’s temple. In a meeting with the Prime Minister, members of the trust personally delivered the invitation, which was graciously accepted. As a result, Prime Minister Modi has confirmed his attendance for this momentous event scheduled for January 22, 2024. Champat Rai, the Trust’s general secretary, emphasized the official confirmation of the date for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’.
The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has been a long-anticipated dream, commencing after a protracted legal battle that concluded with the Supreme Court’s 2019 ruling, paving the way for the temple’s construction. The construction of the Ram Temple at Lord Ram’s birthplace in Ayodhya was a significant electoral promise of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Narendra Modi. Subsequently, following the Supreme Court’s verdict, the government established the ‘Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra’ Trust, entrusted with all decisions related to the temple’s construction.
While progress on the Ram Temple is well underway, there remain some unresolved concerns. Notably, there has been dissatisfaction within the Muslim community regarding the construction of a mosque in Ayodhya, leading to calls for changes in the trustees of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation overseeing the mosque’s construction. Despite the forthcoming plans to install Lord Ram’s idol in the temple in January, the foundation stone for the mosque has yet to be laid.
With the ground-level construction of the three-story Ram temple now completed, the temple trust has selected Makar Sankranti, January 14, as the date for commencing the consecration of Ram Lalla. This occasion represents an incredible milestone in the history of Ayodhya and India, symbolizing the realization of a long-cherished dream for millions of people. As Prime Minister Modi graces the event on January 22, the nation will witness the culmination of a decades-long journey toward the realization of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
