The upcoming 9th edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF) in 2023 is set to take place in Faridabad, Haryana, from January 17th to 20th, 2024. This grand scientific event will be hosted at the Campus of Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) and Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) under the Department of Biotechnology.
The theme for this edition is ‘Science and Technology Public Outreach in Amrit Kaal.’ IISF 2023 aspires to create a platform that inspires a diverse audience, including students, educators, scientists, researchers, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and science communicators.
Featuring a total of 17 themes, IISF 2023 aims to showcase scientific achievements that bring varied benefits to both participants and the general public. The event will facilitate interactions among stakeholders through a range of activities, including seminars by national and international experts, speaker interactions, exhibitions, competitions, workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, technology shows, and more.
Initiated under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, IISF is dedicated to fostering creativity in Science, Technology, and Innovation for the advancement of a prosperous India. The event is a result of collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Earth Sciences, and Vijnana Bharati.
Having evolved into a mega science festival since its inception in 2015, IISF has successfully hosted eight editions in different geographical regions of India. In 2021, the Department of Space and the Department of Atomic Energy joined as integral contributors to this significant scientific gathering.
