Centre extends ceasefire agreement with NSCN-K Niki group for one year

The ceasefire agreement with National Socialist Council of Nagaland (K) Niki group has been extended for a period of one year. The Ceasefire Agreement between government and National Socialist Council of Nagaland (K) Niki group will remain effective till 7th September next year.

The National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) is a Naga nationalist separatist group operating mainly in Northeast India, with minor activities in northwest Myanmar (Burma).

The main aim of the organisation is to establish a sovereign Naga state, “Nagalim”,which would consist of all the areas belonging to the Naga people in Northeast India and northwest Myanmar.[3] The NSCN’s slogan is “Nagaland for Christ”.
