Union Minister of State for Cooperation B.L Verma has said that the central government is bringing out a new cooperative policy soon to increase the per capita income of the farmers. He was speaking to reporters after attending the convocation ceremony at Vaikunth Mehta Cooperative Research Institute (VAMNICOM) in Pune. Mr. Verma said that the central government is preparing the world’s largest food storage scheme, which will be implemented soon so that the farmers’ food grains do not go to waste.

The minister informed that Petrol pumps and LPG gas agencies will be provided in the country in the future through development societies i.e. Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). The central government has set a target of creating two lakh more new development societies.
