D Gukesh won Chessable Sunway Formentera International Chess Festival


GM D Gukesh won his third consecutive tournament in Spain. He won Chessable Sunway Formentera International Chess Festival. After missing several tournament triumphs on tie-breaks, Gukesh won three events in Spain, 48th La Roda Open, Menorca Open and now Formentera Open.

Based in Spain, Sunway is host to two yearly chess festivals, the Sitges International Chess Festival and the Formentera International Chess Festival.

Since its first edition in 2014, Sunway has attracted players to come not only for the chess, but also gastronomic and cultural activities, making it one of the most enjoyable chess festival experiences in the world.

This year Chessable Sunway Formentera Chess Festival was held from April 29 to May 8.
