- The day is also called Varsha Pratipada or Padwa.
- In 2022, Gujaratis were celebrated their New Year on October 25.
- Significance: Gujarati businessmen and traders start new books of account and close the old ones.
- These account books are called chopda or bahi-khata.
- The Gujarati New Year coincides with Govardhan Puja.
