Defence Innovation Organization (iDEX-DIO), at the forefront of fostering Innovations for Defence Excellence, is gearing up for its participation in the tenth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, scheduled to take place from January 10 to 12, 2024, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The iDEX Pavilion, aligned with the summit’s theme ‘Gateway to the Future,’ will serve as a platform for iDEX innovators to showcase their cutting-edge technologies in areas such as Unmanned Solutions, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Advanced Materials, and more.
During the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024, the prominent defence startups and MSMEs associated with iDEX will present their state-of-the-art solutions under the theme ‘TECHADE and Disruptive Technologies.’ The Trade Show will emphasize the Champion Services Sector, highlighting initiatives like Digital India, India Stack, and Emerging Technologies such as Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, and AI/ML.
In addition to the exhibition, iDEX aims to foster new partnerships and collaborations by engaging with industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators during the summit. The organization is committed to collectively envisioning a future that contributes to the dynamic economic landscape of Gujarat and beyond.
Launched in 2018 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The scheme’s primary objective is to cultivate an innovation ecosystem within the Defence and Aerospace sector by fostering collaborations with startups, innovators, MSMEs, incubators, and academia. iDEX provides grants and support for research and development, focusing on solutions with significant potential for future adoption in the Indian defence and aerospace domains.
With ongoing engagement with over 400 startups and MSMEs, iDEX has successfully cleared the procurement of 31 items, amounting to over Rs 2000 Crores. Acknowledged as a game-changer in the defence ecosystem, iDEX has received the prestigious PM Award for Innovation in the defence sector.
