India and Israel signed a Memorandum of Understanding focused on Industrial Research and Development Cooperation, with a focus on key technology areas such as aerospace, electronics instrumentation, civil infrastructure and engineering, environment, mining, chemicals, petrochemicals, and agriculture.
The agreement was signed between the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Directorate of Defense Research and Development, Ministry of Defense of Israel in New Delhi. The Multi-Sectoral Agreement is expected to open a new phase in India-Israel partnership in areas like innovation, technology, and startups.
India’s Science and Technology Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, said that 2023 is an important year for India as it is holding the G20 presidency and celebrating 30 years of successful diplomatic relations with Israel.
