India has surpassed the United Kingdom to become the world’s 5th biggest economy. This has put India just behind the US, China, Japan and Germany.
A decade back, India was ranked 11th among the large economies while the U.K. was at the fifth position.
According to the International Monetary Fund, the highest ranking countries in the world in nominal GDP are:
