The Indian Navy, in partnership with the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA) and with support from the G20 Secretariat, has unveiled the second edition of the “G20 THINQ” quiz, a prestigious initiative geared towards uniting youth from diverse backgrounds and geographies. At its core, the quiz embodies the spirit of ‘Vasudaiva Kutumbakam’ – World is One Family, nurturing lasting friendships among young minds.
This national and international quiz is specially crafted to offer a unique and enriching experience to students studying in Classes IX to XII and their equivalents. In the National Round, the competition is set to witness participation from over 10,000 schools across the country. After rigorous online rounds, sixteen schools will earn their spot in the semi-finals, scheduled to take place in Mumbai on 16th November 2023. The top eight teams will then fiercely compete for the national championship at the iconic Gateway of India on 18th November 2023.
In the International Round, the Indian team will comprise of two primary quizzers and one standby member, handpicked by a distinguished jury. All sixteen semi-finalist teams will also get an exclusive opportunity to visit the Naval Dockyard, providing them with a unique chance to interact with naval personnel on board ships and submarines.
The G20 THINQ quiz will be conducted in English, adhering to international standards. Eleven international teams, in addition to the Indian team, will be selected through a meticulous screening process to participate in the international finals, slated to be held at the iconic India Gate on 22nd November 2023.
The primary goal of the G20 THINQ quiz is to provide the brightest young minds and future leaders with a deeper understanding of the Indian Navy. Participants will showcase their knowledge, intellect, and passion, fostering a sense of patriotism and national pride. This quiz serves as a platform for the youth to express their skills and talents while celebrating the essence of unity and global camaraderie.
