International Girls in ICT Day is an annual celebration observed on the fourth Thursday of April, with the aim of encouraging and empowering girls and young women to explore and pursue careers in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The day is celebrated worldwide, and in 2023, it falls on April 27. The theme for 2023 is “Digital Skills for Life.” The observance is intended to raise awareness about the gender gap in the tech industry and inspire more women to consider careers in ICT. International Girls in ICT Day was declared by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on April 8, 2011.
