The International Tea Day is celebrated on 21 May across the world. The United Nations General Assembly in the year 2019 marked 21 May as International Tea Day in a bid to promote the production and consumption of tea and create awareness about its significance in fighting poverty and hunger.

About Tea
Tea is one of those beverages that is consumed by many around the world, almost in every city or town. It is believed to have originated from the northeastern parts of India and southwestern China. In those regions, tea production is still one of the main sources of livelihood. After water, it is the most widely consumed drink in the world. Tea plants are native to East Asia and probably originated in the borderlands of southwestern China and northern Burma.
