- Now, Jupiter has 92 moons.
- Jupiter planet has overtaken Saturn planet, which has 83 moons at present.
- The orbits of the 12 hitherto undiscovered moons of Jupiter have been published by the Minor Planet Center (MPC).
- Of the 12 new moons, nine are particularly distant.
- The MPC estimates that these nine moons have orbits longer than 550 days.
