Kamalpreet Kaur suspended by AIU for testing positive for a banned substance

Olympian discus thrower Kamalpreet Kaur has been provisionally suspended by Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for testing positive for a banned substance.

Kamalpreet was suspended for the presence/use of prohibited substance stanozolol in her sample, a breach of the World Athletics anti-doping rules. Kaur had made it to the Tokyo Olympics final, finishing sixth with a throw of 63.7m.

Kamalpreet Kaur is an Indian Athlete from Punjab. She is the first Indian woman to breach the 65m barrier in discus throw. She is supported by GoSports Foundation through the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme. Her best performance came when she finished 6th in discus throw at Tokyo 2020.
