Leh achieves 100 percent digitization of banking operations

The highest-located district in India, Leh has achieved 100 percent digitization of banking operations. Leh district has completed the digitization of all the operating banks in a short span of a year.

Digital Banking is an online service for electronic banking transactions. In 2019 RBI had proposed a proposal that every district of each state be 100 percent digitalized in banking operations.

In August 2021, Thrissur in Kerala was made the first fully-digital banking district. Kerala is also the first Indian state that has attained the goal of Financial Inclusion, which requires a minimum of one bank account for every family member.
