- The government of India has appointed CCI member, Sangeeta Verma as the acting chairperson of the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
- Her appointment came into effect from 26th October 2022.
- She will remain in office for three months or till appointment of regular Chairperson or till any further orders, whichever is the earliest.
- She has replaced Ashok Kumar Gupta, who relinquished office after a four-year tenure.
