Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandavia said the Centre will roll out the “One Nation, One Dialysis” programme to help patients undergoing dialysis get the procedure done anywhere in the country at any time.
He inspected the robotic surgery facility and the early pregnancy anomalies screening centre in the hospital. He also laid the foundation stone for the Central Government Health Scheme wellness centre at Avadi, a Chennai suburb, through video conferencing.
The Centre is aiming at making the nation malaria-free by the year 2030. Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said the Centre has allocated 3004-crore rupees to Tamil Nadu under the National Health Mission and the PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. He lauded Tamil Nadu for covering 94 per cent of the people with the first dose of Covid vaccines and 82 per cent with the second dose. He said 75 lakh people from 1.58 crore families in the state have benefited from the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
