A joint operation named Operation Trinetra-II, conducted by the army and police, has resulted in the successful elimination of hiding terrorists in the border area of Jammu-Kashmir’s Poonch district. Launched on July 17, the operation has ignited a fierce gunfight in the regions of Sindarah and Maidana within the Surankote tehsil. Intermittent firing has been reported from the besieged area, prompting the immediate deployment of reinforcements.
The resolute efforts of the security forces have yielded significant results, with four terrorists neutralized during the intense gunfight. As part of Operation Trinetra-II, security forces have secured all potential escape routes, maintaining a strict vigil throughout the night. Additionally, every vehicle passing through the region is meticulously checked as part of the ongoing counter-terrorism measures.
In response to the heightened threat of armed terrorists, weapons smuggling, and narcotics infiltration across the border, random searches and surprise vehicle checks have been intensified across the Poonch district. These measures aim to disrupt and prevent any attempts to destabilize the region’s peace and security.
The successful operation exemplifies the determination and effectiveness of the joint efforts by the army and police to neutralize terrorist activities and ensure the safety of Jammu-Kashmir’s Poonch district. By continuing to prioritize counter-terrorism efforts and maintaining a proactive stance, security forces aim to safeguard the region from potential threats and maintain stability.
