Indian multi-role stealth frigate INS Shivalik has embarked on a mission to participate in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, the largest naval exercise globally. After completing the bilateral exercise JIMEX 24 with Japan, INS Shivalik has reached Pearl Harbour in Hawaii.
Activities in Pearl Harbour
INS Shivalik arrived at Pearl Harbour to engage in the harbour phase of RIMPAC-24, scheduled from June 27 to July 7, 2024. This phase includes symposiums, exercise planning discussions, sports competitions, and reciprocal deck visits.
Sea Phase of RIMPAC-24
The sea phase of RIMPAC-24 is divided into three sub-phases. During the first two sub-phases, ships will conduct basic and advanced integration exercises. The exercise will culminate in a large-scale theatre level tactical exercise.
