Rosneft Strengthens Trade Ties with India by Appointing Former Indian Oil Corporation Director to its Board

Russian energy giant Rosneft has made a noteworthy stride in strengthening trade ties with India by appointing Govind Kottis Satish, a former director of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), to its board. During Rosneft’s annual general meeting on June 30, the company announced Satish’s appointment as one of the 11 members of its board. This decision reinforces the existing partnership between Rosneft and Indian firms in the oil and gas industry. Notably, Rosneft supplies approximately 2 million barrels per day of crude oil to Indian companies, equivalent to 100 million tonnes annually. Satish’s extensive experience in various areas of the Indian Oil Corporation, including marketing operations, logistics, business development, international trade, natural gas, and human resources, positions him as a valuable asset in facilitating further collaboration between the two nations. Satish’s retirement from the post of director for business development at IOC in 2021, at the age of 62, adds to his wealth of expertise. Additionally, he holds the position of Chairman at Indian Oil-Adani Gas Pvt. Ltd., involved in developing city gas distribution networks across the country, as well as Chairman at Indian Oil LNG Pvt. Ltd. Satish completed his graduation in Medical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Surat, and holds a post-graduation degree in management from the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon.
