The Bal Sahitya Puraskar occupies a unique and significant place in India’s literary landscape. Established in 2010, it is dedicated to honoring authors for their exceptional contributions to the field of children’s literature. This award transcends linguistic boundaries, encompassing all 22 languages recognized in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian constitution, as well as works in English and Rajasthani languages.
