This remarkable feat showcases Satwik’s exceptional skill, power, and precision on the badminton court.

The Guinness World Records officially verified Satwik’s incredible smash, which was achieved during the Korea Open 2023 at the Yonex factory gymnasium in Soka, Saitama, Japan. The record-breaking smash took place under controlled conditions, solidifying Satwik’s achievement as an exceptional display of athleticism and technical prowess.

Notably, Satwik’s smash speed of 565 km/h even surpassed the top speed achieved by a Formula 1 car, which stands at 372.6 km/h. This highlights the extraordinary power and velocity generated by Satwik during his record-breaking smash. His achievement places him among the elite athletes who have pushed the boundaries of human performance in their respective sports.

In the female category, Malaysia’s Tan Pearly also made her mark by setting the Guinness world record for the fastest female badminton hits. Her impressive speed of 438 km/h showcases the remarkable talent and strength of women in the sport.

Apart from his record-breaking performance, Satwik, along with his men’s doubles partner Chirag Shetty, displayed exceptional skills on the opening day of the Korea Open 2023. Among all the Indian participants in the tournament, Satwik and Chirag were the only ones to secure entry into the pre-quarterfinals, further showcasing their prowess on the badminton court.
