T V Narendran, a prominent leader in the Mining and Metals industry, has been reappointed as the Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Tata Steel for an additional term of five years, commencing on September 19, 2023, and extending until September 18, 2028. The decision was unanimously endorsed by the ‘Nomination and Remuneration Committee,’ affirming Narendran’s exceptional leadership and contributions to the company.
In his role as CEO and MD, Narendran will continue to spearhead Tata Steel’s growth journey, overseeing both organic and inorganic expansion initiatives. With a remarkable career spanning 34 years, Narendran has held key leadership positions within the company, including serving on the Board of Tata Steel Limited and acting as Chairman of Tata Steel Europe and Tata Steel Long Products Ltd. Furthermore, he has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of XLRI Jamshedpur, a prestigious management institute in India.
Beyond his responsibilities at Tata Steel, Narendran also holds significant leadership roles in other Tata Group companies. He serves as Chairman at Tata Steel Europe, the Supervisory Board of Tata Steel Nederland BV, Tata Steel Long Products Limited, and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited, showcasing his broad expertise and influence in the Tata Group’s overall operations.
