Union Minister for Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan interacted with students, teachers, parents of PM SHRI Schools, and alumni of the Prerana Programmes at the 78th Independence Day Celebrations held in New Delhi. Minister’s Address
In his address, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his pleasure at interacting with the special attendees. He appreciated learning about their experiences, dreams, and aspirations, stating that these interactions reaffirmed his belief that India’s future is secure. He highlighted the government’s commitment to empower and encourage the youth, providing them with valuable exposure and opportunities.
PM SHRI Schools Initiative
The PM SHRI School (PM Schools for Rising India) initiative is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India. It aims to develop over 14,500 PM SHRI Schools, managed by Central Government/State/UT Governments, and local bodies including KVS and NVS. The goal is to create an environment where every student feels welcomed and cared for, with a safe and stimulating learning atmosphere, diverse learning experiences, and high-quality physical infrastructure and resources.
Prerana Programme
The Prerana Programme is a week-long residential initiative for selected students from class IX to XII. It offers an experiential and inspirational learning experience, integrating advanced technology with heritage. Each week, a batch of 20 selected students (10 boys and 10 girls) from various parts of the country attends the program.
The Prerana Programme is conducted at a Vernacular School in Vadnagar, Mehsana District, Gujarat, established in 1888. This historic school symbolizes Vadnagar’s resilience and enduring heritage.
