With a steadfast commitment to uplift the welfare of farmers and combat the persistent challenge of crop damage by stray animals, the Agriculture Department of Uttar Pradesh is set to implement the Mukhya Mantri Khet Suraksha Yojana. This transformative scheme introduces the installation of solar fences with a low 12-volt current, ingeniously deterring animals without causing harm. When animals come into contact with the fence, a mild shock and a siren will be triggered, effectively dissuading creatures like nilgai, monkeys, pigs, and wild boars from encroaching upon fields and wreaking havoc.
Recognizing the importance of supporting small and marginal farmers, the Mukhya Mantri Khet Suraksha Yojana offers a substantial grant of 60% subsidy on the total cost, amounting to Rs 1.43 lakh per hectare, generously provided by the government. This empowering financial assistance aims to fortify farmers’ resilience against the challenges posed by stray animals and their potential for crop destruction. Notably, the scheme’s budget has been significantly augmented, surging from Rs 75 crore to a commendable Rs 350 crore, reflecting the government’s unwavering commitment to securing farmers’ interests.
In a region where farmers have long struggled with the problem of stray animals, the Mukhya Mantri Khet Suraksha Yojana emerges as a beacon of hope, offering an innovative solution to safeguard their livelihoods. Despite previous efforts to address the issue, the new solar fencing initiative brings forth an effective and humane approach to deter animals while ensuring minimal harm. By fostering a secure environment for agricultural pursuits, the scheme endeavors to alleviate the challenges faced by farmers, empowering them to cultivate their lands with confidence and prosperity.
At the helm of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying stands the esteemed Parshottam Rupala, leading initiatives that seek to revolutionize the agricultural landscape. Further, Uttar Pradesh’s Agriculture Minister, Surya Pratap Shahi, plays a pivotal role in steering the state’s agricultural policies, ensuring that farmers receive the support they rightfully deserve. Together, under their leadership, the state is poised to witness transformative progress in safeguarding the interests of its farming community through the Mukhya Mantri Khet Suraksha Yojana.
