Every year on September 25, World Pharmacist Day is commemorated with the goal of highlighting and advocating the pharmacist’s contribution to health improvement.

World Pharmacy Day History

The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Council first announced World Pharmacist Day in 2009 at the World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Istanbul, Turkey. This day in 1912 saw the establishment of FIP. Promoting pharmacists’ contributions to improving world health through their profession is the main goal of this day.

World Pharmacy Day Significance

As pharmacy combines medical science and chemistry, it has a significant impact on the healthcare system. Pharmaceutical development, production, disposal, safe and effective use, and management fall under the purview of pharmacists. If pharmacists did not have a solid understanding of drugs, their side effects, mobility, and toxicity, the world would not have trustworthy, safe medications.
