Assam is on the cusp of a groundbreaking transformation aimed at empowering and fostering self-reliance among its youth with the introduction of the “Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbharshil Asom Abhiyan.” This ambitious program is poised to provide Rs 2 lakh in financial assistance to two lakh deserving individuals, charting a path toward a more promising and self-sustaining future for the state’s young population.

The “Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbharshil Asom Abhiyan” serves as a testament to the Assam government’s unwavering commitment to empowering its youth. By extending financial aid to two lakh deserving individuals, the scheme aims to empower them to pursue their dreams and ambitions, ultimately reducing unemployment and fostering self-reliance among the state’s young residents.

The visionary initiative is being championed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, known for his progressive approach to governance. To ensure the scheme’s success, Chief Minister Sarma recently conducted a comprehensive video conference with the Chief Secretary and senior officials from Assam House, delving into crucial aspects of the initiative, including eligibility criteria, application procedures, and the disbursement of financial assistance.

Over a span of two years, the government envisions extending financial support to a total of 200,000 eligible applicants. This support will be complemented by subsidies and an interest-free loan with a five-year repayment window. Selected beneficiaries will participate in a month-long training program, during which they will receive a stipend of Rs. 10,000. This training initiative will focus on enhancing skills in areas such as management, accounting, and entrepreneurship. Successful candidates will also be required to attend classes at their designated educational or skill training institutions.

The “Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbharshil Asom Abhiyan” holds the potential to create a ripple effect of positive change throughout Assam. As registration for the program opens on September 23-24, the youth of Assam will have a unique opportunity to embark on a journey towards self-reliance and prosperity. In a state renowned for its rich culture and heritage, this initiative stands as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for a brighter future. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his dedicated team are leading the way, paving a path toward a more self-reliant and empowered Assam, one youth at a time.
