Among these, Jaisamand Lake, also known as Debar Lake, stands out as India’s second-largest artificial lake, covering a vast area with dimensions of 14 km in length, 9 km in width, and a depth of 102 feet. This impressive lake was constructed to create a marble dam across the Gomti River.
Each of Udaipur’s lakes possesses its own distinct charm. Lake Pichola, one of the oldest and largest, features small islands that add to its allure. Fateh Sagar Lake, often referred to as the “Pride of Udaipur,” houses the Udaipur Solar Observatory, adding a touch of scientific significance to its beauty. Udai Sagar Lake, born from a dam on the Berach River, was built to supply water to Maharana Udai Singh’s kingdom.
