Nokia, a leading player in telecom technology, has partnered with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) and Kaushalya-The Skill University to launch a dedicated 5G skill development center in Gujarat. This initiative aims to bridge the skill gap in the evolving field of 5G technology and ensure swift job placements for learners. The 5G skill Lab, housed at ITI Kubernagar, will serve as a Center of Excellence (CoE) where individuals can receive comprehensive training in 5G technology skills.

The primary objective of this program is to facilitate job placements for at least 70 percent of the learners within 4-6 weeks upon completing the course. In its first year, the project is set to benefit around 300 candidates, equipping them with the necessary expertise to thrive in the 5G ecosystem. The inauguration ceremony of the 5G skill development center was graced by Balvantsinh Rajput, the Cabinet Minister for Labour and Employment in Gujarat, highlighting the government’s support for skill development initiatives.

Nokia’s commitment to fostering a highly skilled workforce and driving advancements in telecom technology is evident through this initiative. As part of its India corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, Nokia has made substantial investments in infrastructure, equipment, and training for the five labs within the Center of Excellence (CoE). The company aims to create a conducive environment for learning and development, ensuring that the workforce is well-equipped to contribute to the growth of the 5G ecosystem.

Beyond technological advancements, Nokia’s efforts in India extend to generating positive socioeconomic, educational, and health benefits. By fostering connectivity and digitization, the company envisions a future where the benefits of 5G technology reach every corner of the country. Pekka Lundmark, the President and CEO of Nokia, remains committed to driving these initiatives and creating a meaningful impact in India’s journey towards a digitally empowered nation.
