PM Modi launches PM-PVTG Mission and Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched two major initiatives on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, November 15, 2023. The first initiative, the Pradhan Mantri Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PM-PVTG) Mission, is a comprehensive program aimed at the overall development of around 28 lakh people from PVTGs living in 22,000 remote villages across 18 states and union territories. The second initiative, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, is a nationwide campaign to ensure that all government schemes reach the grassroots level.

The PM-PVTG Mission will focus on the following areas:

  • Education: Providing quality education to children from PVTG communities, including through residential schools and scholarships.
  • Health: Providing access to quality healthcare, including through mobile health units and community health workers.
  • Infrastructure: Developing infrastructure in remote areas, such as roads, bridges, and electricity.
  • Livelihoods: Promoting sustainable livelihoods for PVTG communities, such as agriculture, forestry, and tourism.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra will cover all 28 states and union territories of India. The Yatra will be led by senior government officials and will focus on the following areas:

  • Awareness about government schemes: Raising awareness about government schemes among the people, especially in remote areas.
  • Grievance redressal: Addressing the grievances of people related to government schemes.
  • Feedback: Collecting feedback from the people on government schemes.

The launch of these two initiatives is a significant step towards the development of tribal communities in India. The PM-PVTG Mission will provide a comprehensive framework for the development of PVTGs, while the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra will ensure that all government schemes reach the grassroots level.

The PM-PVTG Mission is a welcome initiative that will help to improve the lives of tribal communities in India. The Mission will focus on providing quality education, healthcare, infrastructure, and livelihoods to PVTGs. The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is also an important initiative that will help to raise awareness about government schemes and address the grievances of people.
