The second edition of ‘SemiconIndia 2023’ took center stage in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, with Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel inaugurating the prestigious event. Proudly organized by the India Semiconductor Mission in collaboration with various industry associations, and guided by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, this momentous gathering runs from the 25th to the 30th of July.
The primary focus of SemiconIndia 2023 is to showcase India’s commendable progress as a leading global player in Semiconductor Design, Manufacturing, and Technology Development, aligning with the vision of the India Semiconductor Mission.
Expecting significant participation from prominent semiconductor giants such as Micron Technology and Applied Materials, the event highlights their substantial investment commitments in India’s flourishing semiconductor ecosystem. Micron Technology is channeling $825 million into a semiconductor assembly and test plant in Gujarat, while Applied Materials is dedicating $400 million to their Engineering Collaborative Centre.
Drawing participants from 23 countries and various Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, the exhibition stands as a testament to collaborative efforts by state governments to bolster the semiconductor industry’s growth.
The grand showcase features an impressive array of 150 stalls, representing 80 renowned companies eager to display their cutting-edge innovations and products. Encompassing the entire spectrum of semiconductors, the exhibits include supply chain solutions, global Integrated Device Manufacturers, as well as prominent domestic players.
In addition, the event provides a valuable platform for 25 dynamic startups to present their groundbreaking innovations and foster connections with industry leaders.
SemiconIndia 2023 embodies India’s unwavering dedication to building a thriving semiconductor ecosystem. With its grandeur and cutting-edge displays, the exhibition confidently presents India’s potential as an emerging global center for semiconductor excellence.
Launched in 2021, the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) aspires to establish a vibrant semiconductor and display ecosystem, propelling India to become a global hub for electronics manufacturing and design. The ISM actively provides financial support to companies investing in semiconductors, display manufacturing, and the design ecosystem.
With the Electronics & Information Technology Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, at the helm, India’s semiconductor journey promises to reach new heights and contribute significantly to the nation’s technological advancement on the global stage.
