China, Russia, and Iran Conduct Joint Naval Exercise to Safeguard Maritime Security
China, Russia, and Iran have commenced the third edition of their joint naval exercise, "Security Bond-2023," in the Gulf of Oman. Spanning five days, the exercise aims to protect critical maritime routes and involves activities such as aerial search operations, sea rescue operations, fleet formation exercises, and assigned tasks. The drills coincide with the final phase of the International Maritime Exercise 2023 (IMX 2023), which involves the participation of 50 countries and international agencies. While the United States acknowledges the exercise, it will closely monitor the growing ties between these countries.
