Maharashtra has the maximum number of government-recognised startups, followed by states such as Karnataka and Delhi, as per data shared by the industry department.As many as 13,541 active Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) recognised startups were from Maharashtra, out of the total 73,205 such government-approved new age companies in the country.

The Delhi government launched the ’Mission Kushal Karmi’ programme under which labourers registered with the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board will be offered a skill development training course.The government will also provide a sum of at least ₹4,200 to each worker who takes the course to compensate for the loss of work during the 15-day programme.

MoD approves 3 private sector banks to provide financial services in overseas procurement

The defence ministry allowed three private sector banks to provide financial services to it for overseas procurement of military hardware. The banks are HDFC Bank Ltd, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank.Till now, only authorised public sector banks were utilised to provide services like issuance of letters of credit and direct bank transfers to the ministry for overseas procurement.

Indian Naval Air Squadron 324 was commissioned into the Indian Navy in the presence of Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command at INS Dega, Visakhapatnam.The unit is the first Naval Squadron on the Eastern Seaboard operating the indigenously designed and built Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) MK III (MR) helicopters.INAS 324 squadron has been named as ‘Kestrels’, after a bird species that has good sensory capabilities, symbolising the role envisaged of the aircraft and the air squadron.
