India adds 11 more wetlands to its list of Ramsar sites

India has added 11 more wetlands to the list of Ramsar sites to make total 75 Ramsar sites covering an area of 13 lakh 26 thousand 677 Hectare in the country in the 75th year of Independence.11 new sites include four in Tamil Nadu, three in Odisha, two in Jammu and Kashmir and one each in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Microsoft, govt plan to train 2.5 mn civil servants in computer skills

Microsoft and the Indian government will collaborate for a programme to train nearly 2.5 million civil servants in using the company’s suite of digital tools. Farmers’ average income grew 1.3-1.7x between FY18 and FY22, says SBI study

As the government grapples to meet its stated goal of doubling farmers’ income by 2022-23, a study by India’s largest bank, SBI, shows that between financial year 2017-18 and 2021-22, the average income of farmers rose by 1.3 -1.7 times across India, while in some crops like soybean in Maharashtra and cotton in Karnataka, incomes have in fact doubled during the same time.
